Forest Park Portland

This urban park is on the west side of the city of Portland and its 5,000 acres makes it the largest urban forest reserve in the country and provides excellent opportunities for the study of lowland forest plant and  animal communities. There are dozens of miles of trails and many access points.   There are organized programs in the park during the summer months and the park is open all year around.

The Wildwood trail, which begins in Washington Park, near the zoo, is the longest trail in the park, covering more than 25 miles as it loops around through canyons and creeks.
