About the Staff

This is Colin  Egger's 5th year at Sky Valley and his 9th in the Monroe School District.  Colin’s first experience with mixing teenagers and nature took place in 1998 when he was a trip leader in charge of taking foster kids for 10 day canoe trips throughout Voyageur National Park in Northern Minnesota.  Ever since then he’s enjoyed trying to get kids active whenever possible.  In addition to hiking and camping, Colin also likes to fly-fish, snowboard and mountain bike.  Colin and is married to Jana and they have two sons, Camden & Brody.
Rob Sandelin is a well known naturalist from Snohomish County. He is the author of A Field Guide to the Cascades and Olympics and has worked as a ranger naturalist and researcher for the National Park Service. He writes a widely distributed monthly nature column and teaches  field science for the Environmental Science School as well as classes in mammals, entomology, ornithology and botany for the Sky Valley Education Center. He lectures on natural science topics around the Puget Sound area and teaches students in a variety of programs from ages 4-83.
